  • Q. Who should not sign up for Tank Track?
    A. Tank Track is not for everyone. It is intended exclusively for septic service business that manage between one and ten trucks. If your business is not included in that description, this program is not for you. If you run a septic business and want the most high-tech, complicated features on the market today, the simplicity of Tank Track may not be what you are looking for.
  • Q. How secure is my information stored online?
    A. Very secure. When you access your files over the Internet, your transmission is protected by 256-bit SSL encryption technology. All Tank Track data is hosted on servers in ultra-secure U.S. locations, complete with power backups, fire suppression systems, video surveillance systems, and 24/7 armed guards. Chances are, your septic service information might be safer in Tank Track than it would be at your local bank.
  • Q. Why should I sign up with a brand new company instead of an established one?
    A. We’re glad you asked. It’s true that we don’t have the years of experience or the large customer base that some of our more established competitors have. Because of that, we will be working double duty to listen to your needs, develop new features that you ask for, and provide you with personal help whenever a problem arises. We look forward to earning your trust, and will not take your business for granted. By joining us early on, you’ll get to help shape the future of the project around the way you do business.
  • Q. I am not a high-tech person. Will I be able to use this?
    A. Yes. Tank Track is designed to be intuitive and simple so that even basic computer users can get the hang of it.
  • Q. What if my employees don’t like to use a computer?
    A. No problem. In fact, many septic companies are run by families where only one member is a computer user. Thankfully, in Tank Track you can easily print beautiful job forms and invoices, or export and print your contact lists and property info. It’s a win-win for computer users and paper lovers alike.
  • Q. Can I use Tank Track to go paperless?
    A. Sort of. At the moment, you can access your files from any computer with Internet. We’ll be working to add mobile device capabilities soon so that our customers who want to can move to a paperless and mobile office system.
  • Q. How long does it take to get started?
    A. A few hours, or perhaps less. After signing up, you can export files from your other programs (like Excel, Quickbooks, or Access) and import them into Tank Track. Then you can adjust your settings to show the users, trucks, company information, and job form information you desire. Then you’re good to go.
  • Q. Why don’t you offer a free trial?
    A. A lot of companies offer a free trial because it prompts more people to sign up. Unfortunately, many of those people forget to try the software. We decided that charging from the start would be a better way to make sure that customers who sign up are really committed to giving it a shot. We offer our 90-day-money-back guarantee so that if you decide the program isn’t meeting your needs, you can cancel without losing your investment.   • Q. I need help. How do I get customer support?

  • Q. Will I be able to add the fields I want in the Tank Track job form?
    A. Yes. We have found that aside from basic address and phone number information, there are as many different job form fields as there are septic service companies. Some companies want to know about the availability of a water hose, and others want to know about filters and pump-up systems. In Tank Track, you can customize the fields that you want to have on your job forms, including checkboxes and other types of fields.
  • Q. Does Tank Track accommodate portable sanitation management?
    A. Not specifically. It’s on our list, though, and we’ll be adding that component in the coming year. However, many companies have told us that they plan to use Tank Track for their septic and portable businesses by simply customizing the property information fields and services/products listed to reflect items in both categories. You can customize the program to reflect the jobs you do, from tank pumping to drain cleaning to grease traps… or even snow plowing or trash hauling. (It’s amazing to see how many different jobs septic companies are doing!)
  • Q. What happens if I cancel my Tank Track subscription?
    A. If you decide after using Tank Track that it isn’t for you, you will be able to access your account only during the remainder of your current payment period. During this time, you should download your backup file containing all of your current customers and property details. This file is available for daily local backup, at no additional charge to you. Some companies make it expensive to leave. We don’t. Of course, we’d miss you, so we hope you’ll stick around!
  • Q. How can I stay up on the latest news from Tank Track?

  • Q. What happens if my Internet connection has a problem?
    A. We have a “plan B” for those occasional times when your Internet connection goes down due to severe weather or other problems. Since Tank Track is an Internet-based program (technically, a “web app”), you will not be able to access your account without an Internet connection. You can find an alternate location with Internet from which to work, if convenient. Or, you can access all of your up-to-date customer information, limited schedule, and property details in a spreadsheet that you can save daily on your local computer. It’s not ideal, but it will keep you going with the basic info you need until your Internet connection is back.
